Immersive & Augmented Reality in Imaging

Sunday, April 22 1:00–3:00 pm
This course will introduce the concepts of immersive and augmented reality and demonstrate the current applications of this technology for radiology. Immersive reality interventional radiology modules that can be viewed on readily available viewers and smartphones will be demonstrated. The application of Dicom images using augmented reality will also be demonstrated. Up to 200 foldable virtual reality headsets will be available during the session for in-person participants and will be used for a small portion of the presentation.  Headsets are not a requirement to participate.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this session and through this session, attendees will be able to: 

  • Understand concepts of immersive reality and augmented reality
  • Learn about applications of immersive and augmented reality in radiology education
  • Learn about clinical application immersive reality and augmented reality for diagnostic and interventional radiology
  • Learn how to incorporate immersive and augmented reality tools in their practice.
