You are cordially invited to attend the 2008 ARRS Annual Meeting in Washington, DC April 13-18. The meeting is designed to meet your educational requirements whether you need credits in a particular subspecialty area or are interested in attending courses covering a variety of subspecialties.
The categorical course is on emergency and trauma radiology. Chaired by Dr. Diego Nunez, Dr. Stephen Ledbetter, Dr. Jorge Soto and Dr. Joseph Yu, the course includes chest, head, neck, spine, musculoskeletal, abdominal and pediatric imaging. Following completion of the program, participants should have an understanding of imaging indications and diagnosis in emergency department patients and will be able to optimize their imaging protocols for appropriate and efficient management of adult and pediatric patients.
ARRS will again offer a case-based imaging review course for residents and physicians in practice. Directed by Dr. Gerald Abbott, Dr. Brian Funaki, Dr. Melissa Rosado de Christenson and Dr. Stacy Smith, the course includes 330 cases representing 11 subspecialty areas. Upon completion of the course, participants should gain proficiency in recognizing the imaging features, constructing an imaging differential diagnosis and understanding the management of various diseases.
The 2008 annual meeting will also include six half-day courses. The half-day courses on Sunday will focus on radiology education and radiology business and practice. The half-day courses on Friday will focus on helping you meet your ultrasound, breast imaging and cardiac imaging continuing medical education requirements.
Instructional courses taught by respected radiology educators, scientific sessions highlighting the latest in radiology research and power hour sessions that feature authors of electronic exhibits discussing their exhibits complete the program.
The annual meeting program is made possible through the commitment of our volunteers. Dr. Norman Beauchamp chairs the ARRS Education/CME Committee, which is responsible for ARRS’ overall education program. Dr. Jonathan Lewin chairs the ARRS Program Committee, which is responsible for the annual meeting scientific sessions, the electronic exhibits, the power hours and the Friday half-day courses and Dr. Melissa Rosado de Christenson chairs the ARRS Instructional Courses Committee, which is responsible for the development of the annual meeting instructional courses, categorical course, the review course and the Sunday half-day courses. It is because of them and the members of their committees and the volunteer faculty, that ARRS is able to bring you a meeting of the highest quality.
