Mastering Genitourinary Imaging & Interventions: Longitudinal Course

Genitourinary imaging is a cornerstone of daily radiology practice, and this ARRS longitudinal course offers a structured, year-long approach to mastering it. Participants engage with nationally recognized faculty in case-rich sessions that emphasize real-world decision-making, guideline-based interpretation, and interdisciplinary value.

The course spans the full spectrum of GU radiology, from renal and adrenal imaging to pelvic, prostate, obstetric, and fetal applications, with integrated discussion of image-guided interventions and emergency scenarios.

Learning Objectives

  1. Differentiate benign from malignant renal, adrenal, pelvic, and urothelial lesions using updated imaging criteria and evidence-based algorithms.
  2. Interpret and apply advanced diagnostic techniques—including multiparametric prostate MRI, contrast-enhanced ultrasound, and fetal/OB ultrasound—to improve diagnostic accuracy across GU modalities.
  3. Evaluate and manage acute GU emergencies such as renal trauma, testicular torsion, pelvic inflammatory conditions, and adrenal hemorrhage.
  4. Select and recommend appropriate image-guided interventions for GU pathology, including biopsy, ablation, drainage, and pelvic emergency management.
  5. Recognize common imaging pitfalls and sources of diagnostic error across GU subspecialties.
  6. Integrate current guidelines and structured reporting tools into daily practice.
