Federica Vernuccio

Federica Vernuccio, MD, PhD, is a board-certified radiologist currently working at the University Hospital of Padova in Italy.

Dr. Vernuccio completed residency in Diagnostic Radiology at University Hospital of Palermo, in Italy. She performed part of her training and research activities at the Radiology Department of Beaujon Hospital in Clichy (France) for 6 months, and at Duke University in North Carolina (US) for 11 months. Dr. Vernuccio earned a PhD degree at University of Palermo and at Université de Paris, with the additional label of Doctor Europaeus.

Dr. Vernuccio is the author/co-author of over 100 publications and 15 chapters in books, and has given several lectures at national and international conferences. She has been the recipient of RSNA Student Travel Award in 2017, ESOR Clinical Bracco Fellowships in 2018, RSNA Trainee Research Prize in 2019, Albert L. Baert Editorial Fellowship funded by the European Radiology Private Foundation in 2020. She was also full bursary for the “Introduction to Research for International Young Academics (IRIYA) Program” at RSNA in 2017, and for the EASL Clinical School of Hepatology in 2018.

Dr. Vernuccio is Fellow of the European Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology since 2019 and was awarded the ESGAR Certificate of Excellence in Abdominal Radiology Level II. She currently serves on the Membership Committee of ESGAR and on the RSNA Regional Committee for Europe. Dr. Vernuccio is a strong supporter of equity, diversity and equality in academics.
